Family of beaten Giants fan Bryan Stow seeking treatment options

San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow was sent home earlier than expected because his insurance stopped covering his 24-hour care, his family said this week on its website.
“We are so glad to have him home, but, as prepared as we thought we were, it was a difficult transition,” the family wrote.
Stow suffered brain damage two years ago when he was severely beaten after a Giants-Dodgers opening day game in 2011. He has been working on his rehabilitation ever since.
His insurance temporarily paid for his stay at Centre for Neuroskills in Bakersfield, but with that funding cut off, the family brought him back to the Santa Cruz area, where they are finding other ways to help him.
Stow, a former paramedic who now requires 24-hour care, “could have benefited greatly by staying at CNS longer,” the family said on its website.
Two men were later arrested and charged in connection with the attack.
