Sheriff investigates fatal Chino Hills officer-involved shooting
Investigators in San Bernardino County are looking into the fatal police shooting of a Chino Hills man who allegedly threatened the officers with knives, sheriff’s officials said Tuesday.
Deputies from Chino Hills police responded to reports of a stabbing shortly before 8 p.m. Monday at a home in the 15000 block of Tern Street, according to a statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
At the home, there was a man armed with knives, sheriff’s officials said, who tried to attack the officers.
Deputies shot him, and the man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. His name has not been disclosed because his family is still being notified. But he was described by officials as a 47-year-old man.
None of the involved were injured during the incident.
