Father arrested after allegedly beating infant daughter
An 18-year-old father was arrested on suspicion of beating his infant daughter, who is less than a month old, authorities said Thursday.
Sean Michael Beard was arrested Wednesday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
Beard and the baby’s 16-year-old mother took the child to a hospital, where she was treated for bruises to her face. The baby was transferred to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where doctors discovered additional trauma allegedly caused by abuse, department officials said in a statement.
Beard, a Hesperia resident, was booked into the Central Detention Center. He was being held on $100,000 bail.
