Ryan Handlin, 12, and Marquis Handlin, 11, were reported missing after they had last been seen about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 4100 block of La Crescenta Avenue in the Montrose-La Crescenta area, police told the Glendale New-Press.

The brothers recently moved in with their grandparents after their father died. Police said the boys’ new home “was not the ideal situation.”

Police said they did not suspect foul play but were concerned about the boys’ safety because of their ages.

Authorities were working with family members and the boys’ friends to determine their whereabouts.

Ryan is 5 feet 2, 90 pounds and has light brown hair. He was wearing a dark shirt and jeans.

Marquis is 5 feet 1, 90 pounds and has blond hair. He was wearing a green shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Glendale Police Department at (818) 548-4911.
