A 29-year-old man is in police custody after he stabbed his wife and his wife’s boyfriend early Monday morning, authorities said.

About 2:30 a.m., Los Angeles police officers responded to a call of a child screaming in the 16000 block of South Figueroa Street in Harbor Gateway and found a man and a woman with stab wounds, said LAPD Lt. Jeff Nolte.

The assailant, who tried to flee, was taken into custody.

Police said that the husband got into the apartment and attacked the woman and her boyfriend. Two children under the age of 6 were also in the apartment at the time of the stabbing.
