A 29-year-old transient suspected of killing a woman and leaving her body in a West Hollywood trash bin was arrested on suspicion of murder Tuesday in the Pomona, area, detectives said.
Abdulla Tario Camran was spotted near Arrow Highway in Pomona and admitted to officers that he was the suspect they were seeking, authorities said. He is being held in lieu of $2-million bail.
Camran was known to frequent homeless encampments in L.A. and West Hollywood and is suspected of killing Joie Nicole Kinney, 28, whose body was found July 6 across the street from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies found Kinney’s body in the 8700 block of Beverly Boulevard behind the site of the former Jerry’s Famous Deli.
Kinney’s age and cause of death were not available because of a security hold on her case by the Sheriff’s Department, a coroner’s spokesman said.
Investigators believe the woman frequented the area near the former restaurant, which closed in 2013.
