Pit bull attack leaves man critically injured in Lake Elsinore
A Lake Elsinore man was in critical condition after he was attacked by two unlicensed pit bulls, officials said Tuesday night.
The man was bitten about 4:15 p.m. by his roommate’s dog and one of his own dogs, said John Welsh, a spokesman for the Riverside County Department of Animal Services.
He said the roommate signed over his dog to be euthanized.

The vicitm was taken to a local hospital. His name and age were not released.
The department impounded four adult dogs and two puppies, all of them pit bulls with no licenses, Welsh said. Three of the animals were owned by the victim.
The incident follows several high-profile dog attacks in recent months.
In September, a 2-year-old boy was mauled to death by five pit bulls in San Bernardino County. In August, a woman in Riverside County was hospitalized after she was attacked by two pit bulls. And in May a pack of pit bulls killed a woman out for a walk in the Antelope Valley.
Citing recent attacks, Riverside County supervisors approved an ordinance in October requiring pit bulls in unincorporated areas to be spayed or neutered.
