At least nine students in San Bernardino suffered minor injuries Wednesday when their school bus was hit by a car, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 7 a.m. near H and 9th streets, when a vehicle struck the rear of a small San Bernardino City Unified School District bus, said Officer Johnie Russell, a California Highway Patrol spokesman.
He said parents were notified of the accident as soon as officers arrived, and at least nine of the students were taken to area hospitals. They complained of minor injuries, he said.

The bus carried students from Richardson Prep Hi Middle School, the San Bernardino Sun reported, citing a district spokeswoman. The other students were picked up by another bus and taken to school.
The damage to both vehicles was minor, authorities said.
