A man was fatally wounded Thursday morning in Silver Lake during an apparent gang-related shooting, the second homicide this year in the neighborhood, police said.

Witnesses reported that the victim, whose name and age were not released, was arguing with another man about 10:55 a.m. in the 4300 block of Sunset Boulevard, said Los Angeles Police Officer Bruce Borihanh.

One of the two men reportedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at the other man, authorities said.

The alleged gunman, who witnesses said had a shaved head, was seen running and jumping into a dark sedan, Borihanh said.

The wounded man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Borihanh said.

Thomas Starr King Middle School, at 4201 Fountain Ave., was briefly locked down as police searched for the suspect.
