An inert hand grenade found on the roadside temporarily closed the eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway in Sunland on Tuesday as a bomb squad investigated the possible threat.

A SigAlert was issued after the freeway was closed shortly before 9:25 a.m. near Sunland Boulevard. Ramps on and off the freeway were also closed, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Foothill Division reported on Twitter that the bomb quad had detonated the hand grenade, which appeared to be inert.
