Teenager shot and killed in Bell Gardens

Homicide detectives were responding Wednesday night to a shooting in Bell Gardens, where a male teenager was mortally wounded.
The shooting was reported in the 4600 block of Gotham Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name and age were not released.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives were assisting Bell Gardens police. No other details were immediately available.
At least 26 homicides have been reported in Bell Gardens since January 2007, according to The Times Homicide Report database.
