Man arrested for allegedly shooting co-worker near Sacramento
A 52-year-old man was arrested Thursday after shooting his co-worker during an apparent dispute at a landscaping business east of Sacramento, officials said.
The 44-year-old co-worker suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
The shooting occurred about 7 a.m. after a witness reportedly heard the pair arguing at the land-care business in the 3200 block of Fitzgerald Road, the Sacramento Bee reported.
Soon after the shooting, sheriff’s officials said Cristobal Chavez, 52, fled in a red Honda.
Hours later, authorities found Chavez in north Sacramento and recovered the gun reportedly used in the shooting. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
