Huntington Beach City Hall evacuated; suspicious package found
Huntington Beach police and fire crews evacuated City Hall on Monday morning after a worker found a suspicious package, an official said.
The package was found about 8:45 a.m. at the building at 2000 Main St., said Lt. John Domingo of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Fire Capt. Bob Culhane said the package looked like it could have an explosive inside. He said officials placed it in a stairwell after it was discovered, and the building was evacuated. There were about 300 workers in the building.
The bomb squad was on site.
