Two victims in stable condition after Malibu hit-and-run
Two pedestrians injured in a hit-and-run accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu were listed in stable condition Saturday, authorities said.
A woman in her 50s and her 3-year-old grandson were crossing the highway and standing in the median at around 8:30 p.m. Friday when the side mirror of a car struck them, authorities said.
The accident occurred in the 25500 block of the Pacific Coast Highway, between Puerco Canyon and Corral Canyon roads, said Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Mathers. That section of the road was closed for more than an hour
L.A. County Fire Department units were dispatched to the scene, and the two victims were airlifted to UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, a fire department representative said.
After being listed in critical condition, the victims are now stable, Mathers said.
Authorities described the suspect’s car as silver or white and possibly a small sport utility vehicle. Mathers said the investigation was ongoing.
