Readers React: Breastfeeding isn’t a crime

It has always boggled my imagination how breastfeeding a baby or pumping milk in public can possibly be a nuisance. (“For lactating mothers, jury duty poses logistical challenges,” May 17)
On TV all day, one can hear sirens wailing and commands from police to drop weapons or place hands on a wall. There are depictions of morgues and people being asked in courtrooms to describe how the accused raped the victim. We are also given a hefty dose of gory gunshots and stabbings.
This fare is fine and dandy, but show a woman breastfeeding a baby or pumping milk and that is X-rated. Might someone please enlighten me on the reasoning of this?
