Readers React: Studying a minimum wage hike doesn’t help families pay the bills

To the editor: Sorry, but asking for more time to study the question of when to raise the minimum wage is status quo stonewalling no matter how you dress it. (“L.A. City Council should take time to get minimum wage hike right,” Editorial, Oct. 23)

When does the fine moral line between corporate greed, obscene profits and the very welfare of our citizens disappear? It is a fact: When the minimum wage is increased, all ships rise higher (including those of corporate officers) since more people have more money to spend on buying more things.

Even David Stockman, Ronald Reagan’s budget director, has voiced skepticism on trickle-down economics. Bottom-up economics raises all boats, even nonprofits and small businesses.
