Several teams went through two days of competition last weekend at the 61st annual Men’s Laguna Open Volleyball Tournament at Main Beach in Laguna Beach.

The double-elimination professional tournament started Saturday and ended with championship-round play Sunday. The 2016 title was won by local favorites Chase Frishman of Laguna Niguel and playing partner Mike Brunsting of Lake Forest. The duo defeated Miles Evans (Torrance) and Spencer McLachlin (Hermosa Beach) in a three-game final.

The main draw consisted of 24 of the highest ranked teams (California Beach Volleyball Assn. and USA Volleyball rating points). Another four local teams are included as well as any past champions.
