The Clippers have reached a fragile state during this tumultuous period in which their mettle has been tested.

They have all been asked to stand their ground during this rough six-game losing stretch. But those that can’t and are unable to stay all-in, the Clippers may be wise to shake things up going forward.

The NBA trade deadline is not until Feb. 23, but if the Clippers continue to flounder and there is a sense that not all the players are buying in even during these struggles, changes could be made.

A 24-pont loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday night that was followed by a 26-point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night was not a good look for the Clippers.

Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said “you can lose your spirit” during these difficult times, but that “we haven’t done that.”

Rivers and his coaching staff have been positive. But he was asked after the loss Saturday night what his players’ reaction has been during all the losing.

“They’re up and down,” Rivers said. “It’s easy for the coaches to stay positive. I’m sitting on the sidelines. I’m not out there watching guys make layups and all that stuff. So I get that.

“But overall, they’re frustrated. They want to win. They want to win and we’re not playing well. We’re caught in a tough stretch in the schedule and there’s nothing we can do about it. You just have to stay to what your goals are. Stay on that and you’ll be fine.”

After the loss to the Thunder on Saturday night, a game the Clippers trailed by a season-high 35 points, they had a discussion about finding ways to get out of this rut.

“We had a good meeting,” Marreese Speights said. “We’ll be all right.”

The Clippers still are trying to sort out who is going to play on a given night.

Blake Griffin remains out after right knee surgery.

Chris Paul was listed as doubtful for the Phoenix Suns game Monday night at Staples Center with a sore left hamstring. Paul had missed three games with a strained left hamstring, came back to play at New Orleans last Wednesday on a limited minutes playing basis, but missed the last two games.

Wesley Johnson, who had started three games at forward, was listed as questionable for the Suns game with a sprained left ankle.

Clippers center DeAndre Jordan limped throughout the Thunder game after he hurt his left hip and left ankle.

J.J. Redick has been playing the last two games on a left hamstring that still isn’t 100% healthy.

“We’re searching right now for a win. The health is not an excuse,” Redick said. “We have to play better collectively. It’s not one thing. It’s a lot of things.

“I think one thing that we can all just sort of do better is playing a little bit harder and that’s evident by the fast break points. It’s been a problem.”
