KEY MOMENT: Dee Gordon broke a 2-2 stalemate in the eighth inning when he singled off Diamondbacks reliever Daniel Hudson to drive in pinch-runner Roger Bernadina. Hanley Ramirez put the game out of the Diamondbacks’ reach in the next at-bat, as his two-run double extended the Dodgers’ advantage to 5-2.

ON THE MOUND: Hyun-Jin Ryu was charged with two runs and seven hits over 6 2/3 innings. He pitched his way out of serious trouble in the second inning, when he loaded the bases with no outs and managed to escape unscathed. The Diamondbacks scored twice off Ryu in the seventh inning to tie the score, 2-2, as Cody Ross doubled in Aaron Hill and A.J. Pollock singled in Ross.

AT THE PLATE: Adrian Gonzalez hit his 20th home run of the season in the first inning, a two-run shot off Diamondbacks starter Chase Anderson that moved the Dodgers in front, 2-0. Gonzalez has hit 20 or more home runs in eight of his last nine seasons. Matt Kemp singled in the first inning to extend his season-best hitting streak to 12 games. Gordon was three for four with a double, a run batted in and a run scored.

ROSTER MOVES: The Dodgers reinforced their bench Saturday by calling up journeyman outfielder Bernadina from triple-A Albuquerque. Mattingly said he envisions Bernadina, 30 and a career .236 hitter, as a pinch-running specialist. “It gives us a true speed guy off the bench,” Mattingly said. To create a roster spot for Bernadina, the Dodgers put Josh Beckett on the 60-day disabled list. … Carlos Triunfel cleared waivers and was assigned to Albuquerque.

UP NEXT: Zack Greinke (13-8, 2.72 ERA) will face Trevor Cahill (3-10, 5.06) and the Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. On the Air: TV: SportsNet LA. Radio: 570, 1020.
