Will the Dodgers turn their season around?

Fans hoping for a post-All-Star game resurgence by the Dodgers have been left feeling a little blue.

The Dodgers are 2-4 since returning from the break, and despite Matt Kemp’s 12th-inning heroics against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday afternoon, they continue to fall in the NL West. Heading into their weekend series against the New York Mets, they trail first-place San Francisco by 2 1/2 games.

But can the Dodgers turn things around? After all, Dodgers Chairman Mark Walter seems to think the team is merely “a few moves” away from winning their first World Series title since 1988.

With that much optimism coming from top of the team hierarchy, that must mean General Manager Ned Colletti won’t be handcuffed in making a move before the July 31 nonwaiver trade deadline, right?

Unfortunately, it’s hard to imagine the Dodgers making the few big moves necessary to transform them into title contenders. The team has only seven wins in their last 26 games, living off the fat of its strong start.
