Update: The Ducks placed defensemen Simon Despres and Clayton Stoner on injured reserve and recalled Shea Theodore and Korbinian Holzer from San Diego of the AHL. Ducks Coach Bruce Boudreau said Despres “is not feeling quite right” and will be further evaluated for an upper-body injury after he was knocked out of Friday’s game by Tyson Barrie of Colorado. Barrie faces a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.

Theodore, 20, could make his NHL debut and the Ducks could use his offensive instincts after getting no goals from their forwards in four games.

“That’s pretty absurd, to be honest,” center Andrew Cogliano said. “I think there’s a sense, obviously, of disappointment. I think we’re past the frustration phase. I think guys are on the upswing.”

The Ducks put Chris Wagner on waivers.

Minnesota has points in every game this season.
