Top games Friday:

Loyola (4-0) at Upland (4-0), 7 p.m. Last week, Loyola’s secondary shut down California commit Bryce Treggs of St. John Bosco. This time, the Cubs will focus on heavily recruited receiver Kenny Lawler. Upland scored eight touchdowns against Norco. Tailback Donta Abron Jr. is a big-play back. Loyola relies on two-way players Kodi Whitfield, Cameron Walker and Chaz Anderson. And the Cubs have a weapon in kicker-punter Conrad Ukropina. The pick: Loyola.

Vista Murrieta (3-0) at Encino Crespi (4-0), 7 p.m. A year ago, Crespi passed for 482 yards and five touchdowns in a 45-31 victory over Vista Murrieta. Do you think the Broncos might want revenge? Junior linebacker Su’a Cravens has 15 scholarship offers and should get a chance to show what he can do against Crespi’s powerful offensive line, led by Jordan Simmons. Crespi quarterback Cody Cordell has completed nearly 70% of his passes for 861 yards and 15 touchdowns. The pick: Crespi.

Garfield (0-4) at South East (4-0), 7 p.m. The Eastern League gets underway with a possible title decider in the opener. Ignore Garfield’s winless record. The Bulldogs took on a challenging nonleague schedule (Bishop Amat, Edison, Dorsey, St. Paul) and had good and bad moments. They need to create holes for running back Lance Fernandez. This game will be decided by how well Garfield deals with the versatile Robert Lewis. The pick: Garfield.
