Baseball: Redondo holds off Mira Costa, 4-2, in battle of Bay League rivals

Redondo (26-1, 9-0) has wrapped up the Bay League championship, and the Sea Hawks did it on Tuesday by knocking off rival Mira Costa, 4-2. Mira Costa was coming off a victory on Saturday in the Boras Classic championship game.

Sean Reynolds threw a complete game, allowing six hits. Jacob Springman and Ricky Martin each had two hits. Danny Zimmerman hit a home run.

West Ranch 12, Valencia 1: West Ranch added some uncertainty to the Division 1 playoff bracket with the Foothill League win over No. 3-ranked Valencia. Jack Cunningham threw a four-hitter, striking out eight. Sam Gray, Cade Spurlin, Daniel Luevano, Austin Hernandez and Nico Valdez each had two hits. Hernandez finished with four RBIs. West Ranch pulled to within one game of the first-place Vikings.

Hart 6, Canyon 1: The Indians clinched a Division 1 playoff berth in third place in the Foothill League. Sophomore Ryan Carolan threw five shutout innings.

Saugus 2, Golden Valley 1: The Centurions won the Foothill League game. David Shier threw five shutout innings. Rudy Aguilar had two hits.

El Toro 3, Dana Hills 2: The Chargers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Gavin Garcia had the walk-off single. Bradley Spooner struck out five in a complete game. Josh Zamora had two hits.

Woodbridge 1, Beckman 0: The winning run came across in the eighth inning on a balk. Jake Larsen threw seven shutout innings for Woodbridge.

Mission Viejo 1, Laguna Hills 0: Tanner Bibee struck out 11 to help the Diablos clinch the Sea View League championship. It was the sixth consecutive league shutout by a Mission Viejo pitcher.

JSerra 5, Servite 2: The Lions clinched the Trinity League title with the eight-inning win. Chase Strumpf, Matt Manskar and Davis Wendzel each had two hits. Cole Samuels struck out six in seven innings.

Orange Lutheran 9, Santa Margarita 0: Chris Burica threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings and Tristan Hanoian had three hits and three RBIs in the Trinity League game.

Culver City 7, Beverly Hills 0: Culver City won its 12th consecutive game and wrapped up the Ocean League title. Eli Saucedo threw a complete-game six-hitter.

Cypress 7, La Palma Kennedy 3: Jason Baca went three for three with three RBIs, including a duble and triple. Raul Salazar threw the complete game.

Foothill 12, Yorba Linda 3: Preston Moebius had three hits for Foothill.

Bellflower 2, La Mirada 0: Bellflower pulled into a tie for first place in the Suburban League behind Ricky Ramos, who improved to 9-0.

Murrieta Valley 5, Great Oak 1: Blake Timm struck out five in the complete-game performance.

Vista Murrieta 13, Temecula Valley 5: Brandon Luna went four for four with four RBIs.

Huntington Beach 7, Fountain Valley 1: The Oilers helped their Division 1 playoff hopes with the Sunset League win. Hagen Danner hit two home runs and finished four for four. Nick Pratto also hit two home runs.

Newport Harbor 4, Edison 2: Newport Harbor won the Sunset League game.

Los Alamitos 6, Marina 1: Despite dropping the game, Marina has clinched the Sunset League title. Mark Stanford had three hits for Los Alamitos, which received a complete game from Kyle Mora.

Etiwanda 4, Chino Hills 2: The Eagles kept alive their playoff hopes. Tyler Freeman hit a home run and brother Cody Freeman had two hits. Vince Mughannem struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings.

Damien 13, Los Osos 3: The Spartans won the Baseline League game.

North 18, Riverside Poly 0: Christian Koss and Manny Galvan each had four RBIs.

Moorpark 9, Camarillo 2: Travis Weston struck out 10 and threw a three-hitter. Matt Page, Greg Dominguez and TJ Foreman each finished with three hits.

Esperanza 8, Anaheim Canyon 0: Haydon Nix contributed three hits and three RBIs for Esperanza to help the Aztecs clinch the Crestview League title. Ryan Wilson allowed two hits in six innings.

Capistrano Valley 6, Aliso Niguel 3: Austin Moreira had two hits and two RBIs to lead Capistranoo Valley.

Sierra Canyon 15, McAuliffe 0: Zach Zulager picked up his first high school victory.

Burroughs 12, Burbank 2: The Palafox brothers sparked Burroughs to the Pacific League win. Nathan had three RBIs and Justin had two RBIs.

Arcadia 5, Crescenta Valley 1: The Falcons’ loss means there’s a three-way tie for first place in the Pacific League among the Apaches, Crescenta Valley and Burroughs with one game to play.

San Marcos 1, Santa Barbara 0: Kevin Gowdy struck out nine in 6 1/3 innings in Santa Barbara’s defeat.
