Boys’ basketball: Chris Sandifer is MVP in Battle of the Valley

Chris Sandifer of Taft, headed to UTEP, received MVP honors on Saturday after scoring 27 points to help the West defeat the East, 128-125, in the Battle of the Valley at Valley College. Larry Bush of Calabasas added 25.
Eric Patten of Crescenta Valley scored 23 points for the East and Brandon Boyd of Alemany had 20 points. Boyd was named MVP for the East team.
