Football: Attention San Clemente, beware of the Mannequin Challenge play from Del Oro

San Clemente plays Del Oro in the CIF state championship Division 1-A bowl game on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Sacramento State, and Del Oro received plenty of attention earlier this season for its Mannequin Challenge play on a two-point conversion in a playoff game.

Players froze and posed just before going into motion and pulling off the successful two-point conversion.

Del Oro has lots of two-point conversion plays.

“We shift every week and go for the two,” Coach Casey Taylor said. “Every week, we do something different.”

Taylor went to a coaching clinic and compiled a list of two-point conversion plays that number into the dozens.

For the Mannequin Challenge, the players were pretty good actors, freezing and posing.

We’ll see what’s in store for Saturday.
