Football: QB Ricky Town is having good season for St. Bonaventure
When you’re a quarterback and haven’t been intercepted in 196 pass attempts, that’s pretty good.
Ricky Town of Ventura St. Bonaventure has accomplished that feat. He has completed 115 of 196 passes for 1,684 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Now he must take the next step and help the Seraphs (4-3) reach the Pac-5 Division playoffs. The results of the next two weeks should reveal where St. Bonaventure stands.
The Seraphs play Oaks Christian on Friday in their Marmonte League opener at Ventura High, then travel to Westlake on Halloween eve next Thursday.
The USC-bound Town has been working on hitting the deep ball and the Seraphs also need to pick up their running game to be able to knock off Oaks Christian and Westlake in consecutive weeks.
But no interceptions after seven games from the quarterback is something any coach would be thankful for.
