Football: Serra is loaded at linebacker position

When it comes to top linebackers in the Southern Section, just go watch Gardena Serra. Senior Dwight Williams and junior John Houston have multiple scholarship offers. Their quickness and hitting ability are outstanding.

Also, senior Malachi Mageo was granted another year of eligibility, and his toughness and versatility will be visible on the field. Sophomore Blake Walls is another player with a college offer.

Cal-bound Quentin Tartabull of Alemany will be a defensive back in college, but he’ll need to be outstanding at linebacker for the Warriors to excel. Rick Gamboa of Chaminade is committed to Colorado. Jack Savage of Servite is junior with athleticism who should make an impact in the Trinity League with Grant Moore of Mater Dei and Chandler Leniu of St. John Bosco.

D.J. Beavers is a junior physical specimen at Crespi ready to become one of the best in Southern California. Steven Galvan of El Dorado is 6-3, 225 pounds. Reuben Peters of Loyola is a veteran with growing strength. Will Sedgwick is a 6-2, 220-pound junior from Laguna Hills already committed to Brigham Young.

Bobby Okereke of Santa Ana Foothill is one of the best athletes around. He’s also an outstanding tight end. Jabril Frazier of Verbum Dei is a rising college prospect. Caleb Turner of Long Beach Poly is a veteran of last year’s Pac-5 Division championship team.
