Track: T.J. Brock of Chaminade runs 10.27 100 meters at Division 3 prelims

Defending state 100 meters champion T.J. Brock of Chaminade showed on Saturday that he’s ready to run very fast.

Aided by wind (5.2), he ran a 10.27 qualifying time at the Southern Section Division 3 prelims at Estancia. Later, he led the qualifiers in the 200 with a 21.11 legal time.

Austin Lietz of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame qualified in four events _ both relays, plus the 400 and 300 intermediate hurdles. Jasher Foster of St. Francis had the fastest 110 highs time of 14.08 (wind aided). Austin Tamagno of Brea ran 1:53.62 in the 800. Bronson Osborn of Esperanza had marks of 69-2 3/4 in the shotput and 199-3 in the discus.

Sissy Farmer of Notre Dame had the fastest girls’ qualifying times in the 100 (11.84) and 200 (24.32).

In Division 1, Marcel Espinoza of Santa Monica had the top qualifying mark in the 400 in 48.19. Michael Norman of Vista Murrieta won his heat in 48.86. Isaac Cortes of Great Oak ran 1:51.82 in the 800.

In Division 2, Ryan Moya-Capron of Colony ran the 200 in 21.39. Here’s the link to Division 2 results.

In Division 4, Lauren Rain Williams of Oaks Christian led the girls’ 100 qualifiers with a time of 11.65. She also had the fastest 200 time in 23.30.

Next week’s Southern Section championship meet is set for Saturday at Cerritos College.
