New York Yankees’ Masahiro Tanaka scheduled to start Sunday

Masahiro Tanaka is likely to rejoin the Yankees’ rotation Sunday after an absence of more than two months. New York Manager Joe Girardi said Tanaka, sidelined since July 9 because of a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, tentatively is set to start against Toronto at Yankee Stadium, with a limit of 70 to 75 pitches. The rookie right-hander will throw another bullpen session before the start.

The Atlanta Braves announced a naming rights deal with Georgia’s largest bank for their new ballpark set to open in 2017. It will be called SunTrust Park. . . . Houston rookie outfielder George Springer, out since July 20 with a left quadriceps injury, won’t play again this season. . . . Yankees infielder Martin Prado, who has hit .317 since being acquired from Arizona on July 31, will miss the rest of the season after having an appendectomy. . . . Colorado third baseman Nolan Arenado will be sidelined indefinitely because of a bruised chest and pneumonia.
