High school football championship games set for Saturday
Here are the matchups and some predictions for the 2015 CIF state championship football games Saturday.
Open Division
at Sacramento State
Corona Centennial (14-0) vs. Concord De La Salle (12-1), 8 p.m. (TWC SportsNet)
Get ready for lots of offense. De La Salle has three 1,000-yard rushers. Centennial has scored 60 or more points in five of its last seven games. The week off has helped get Centennial healthy.
The pick: Centennial.
Division 1-A
at Sacramento State
Harbor City Narbonne (13-2) vs. Concord Clayton Valley (13-1), noon
Clayton Valley intends to try to run the ball again and again. It will be up to Narbonne’s defense not to let Clayton Valley control the clock. Narbonne quarterback Roman Ale has 45 touchdown passes.
The pick: Narbonne.
Small School Open Division
at Sacramento State
San Marino (15-0) vs. Modesto Central Catholic (15-0), 4 p.m.
Stopping running back Justin Rice is a tough task for San Marino. He had 325 yards rushing last week. The Titans need to get the ball to receiver J.P. Shohfi, who has 113 receptions.
The pick: Central Catholic.
