Update: Looking to rebound from a 4-1 drubbing at Real Salt Lake last weekend, the Galaxy plays a Philadelphia team that is unbeaten and has not given up a goal in 2011. The Union, under Coach Peter Nowak, has shut out Houston and Vancouver. Philadelphia features three former Galaxy players, forward Carlos Ruiz, midfielder Stefani Miglioranzi and defender Danny Califf. “Anytime they take a thumping like they did in Salt Lake, they’re going to be looking to bounce back,” Califf said of the Galaxy. “We anticipate they’ll come out with a lot of energy. They’re going to really try to pressure us and put us on the back foot early in front of their home crowd, in order to make a statement that last week was a fluke for them.” Landon Donovan returns for the Galaxy after playing all 180 minutes for the U.S. national team in a tie with Argentina and a loss to Paraguay.
