Update: The Kings clinched a playoff spot Wednesday with a 3-2 shootout victory over Phoenix and matched a team record with their 46th victory. They can still finish as high as fourth or as low as eighth. Jonathan Quick is scheduled to start in goal and might also play Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams. The Ducks need two points to clinch a playoff spot. Goaltender Ray Emery, who left Wednesday’s 6-2 rout of San Jose because of a lower-body injury, did not practice Thursday but said he felt a lot better than he anticipated. If he can’t start, Dan Ellis would start. Right wing Corey Perry is making a strong push for most-valuable-player honors with a league-leading 50 goals and with 97 points, only three behind leader Daniel Sedin.
