Galaxy to take on Chivas USA on Sunday
When: 6.
Where: Home Depot Center.
On the air: TV: ESPN, ESPN Deportes. Radio: 1150, 1330 (Spanish), 1220 (Spanish), 690.
Records: Galaxy 18-4-10, Chivas USA 8-12-12.
Season series: Galaxy beat Chivas, 1-0, on May 21.
Update: A win or a draw against rival Chivas USA would give the first-place Galaxy an unbeaten home record this season. Such a feat has been accomplished only three times in MLS history. Aside from that, there’s not much on the line for either team, except bragging rights. The Galaxy, winner of the Supporters’ Shield for the best record in the MLS (for the second straight season), has clinched home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, while Chivas will be staying home for the postseason. The Galaxy own this rivalry, the SuperClasico, with a 13-3-5 all-time record and five consecutive wins against Chivas, including a 1-0 win in the teams’ only meeting this season. A sold-out crowd is expected.
