NFl draft: Cowboys select cornerback Morris Claiborne at No. 6

No. 6 Dallas Cowboys: CB Morris Claiborne, LSU –- Generally viewed as the best corner in this draft, Claiborne had 11 interceptions in his two full seasons as a starter at LSU. He returned one pick for a 45-yard touchdown against Georgia last season in the Southeastern Conference title game. Although he doesn’t have elite speed for an NFL corner, he was fast enough in high school to win the Louisiana state championship in the 100 meters.
Comment: The Cowboys needed a playmaker at this position and Claiborne is elite – a player so coveted that Dallas was willing to sacrifice its second-round pick to get him.
