Los Angeles Kings let Stanley Cup significance sink in
Thursday’s celebration rally just might have been the first time the Kings were able to sit back and let the Stanley Cup championship sink in.
In front of 18,000 fans at Staples Center, captain Dustin Brown said it was difficult to describe the feeling.
“It’s a pretty special moment,” the forward said.

Forward Anze Kopitar echoed Brown’s sentiments.
“It’s been quite a journey here these last six years,” he said. “They weren’t all smooth-sailing, but the last couple months, we made it pretty special.”
Kings Coach Darryl Sutter said his favorite memory occurred with only a few minutes remaining in the deciding Game 6 victory.
“We were up, 5-1, and the look on the players’ faces is something I’ll remember the rest of my life,” he said.
