The Oakland Raiders suspended linebacker Rolando McClain on Friday for two games for conduct detrimental to the team.

On Wednesday, McClain had been asked to leave practice early and told to stay away Thursday because of conduct detrimental to the team.

There has been no word on what exactly McClain did, other than the nebulous reference to detrimental conduct.

McClain was the eighth overall pick in the 2010 draft after helping Alabama win a national championship the previous season. He has 6 1/2 career sacks and has been generally considered a disappointment in his career with the Raiders.

Omar Gaither will take McClain’s spot in the lineup against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
