USC 24, Washington 14 (final)

Silas Redd finished with 155 yards rushing and a touchdown and the Trojans caused four turnovers to come away with a 24-14 victory over the Huskies in a Pac-12 Conference game at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

USC 24, Washington 14 (4:13 left in the fourth quarter)

The momentum had shifted to Washington, but the Huskies just can’t seem to make the big plays they need to get back in this game.

Trailing by 10 points, Washington missed a 47-yard field-goal attempt, then held USC on a fourth-and-five play from the Huskies’ 27, then turned the ball right back over to the Trojans.

Josh Shaw came up with the turnover for USC, wrapping up a tipped pass at midfield.

USC 24, Washington 14 (11:03 left in the fourth quarter)

USC safety Jawanza Starling forced and recovered a fumble by Washington quarterback Keith Price to stave off a Huskies scoring opportunity.

Washington got the ball for the last play of the third quarter, and Price drove the Huskies to the four-yard line.

But on second and goal from the three, Price faked a handoff and then left the ball exposed. Starling swooped in to strip it from Price’s grasp, Trojans defensive tackle Leonard Williams knocked Price to the ground and Starling recoverd the ball.

Price has completed 17 of 22 passes for 171 yards.

USC 24, Washington 14 (1:44 left in the third quarter)

USC blew a scoring opportunity when an apparent touchdown pass from Matt Barkley to Marqise Lee was nullified by a holding penalty.

After Washington blocked Andre Heidari’s 41-yard field-goal attempt, Washington quarterback Keith Price went to work, connecting with tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins for 34 yards and receiver DoAndre Campbell for 21.

After a hoilding penalty, Price and Seferian-Jenkins hooked up for a 29-yard touchdown pass play that pulled the Huskies to within 10 points.

The Huskies forced the Trojans to go three and out, and Price moved his team down the field again.

But the drive stalled at the Trojans’ 27, and Travis Coons’ 47-yard field-goal attempt was wide left.

Is something wrong with Matt Barkley?

USC’s senior quarterback was sacked midway through the second quarter and the Trojans have not attempted a pass since.

USC cornerback Anthony Brown blocked a punt and then returned it seven yards for a touchdown with 4:41 left in the second quarter to put the Trojans in control.

Barkley has completed seven of 10 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown, with one interception.

Silas Redd has rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown in 12 carries. Curtis McNeal has gained 32 yards in five carries.

Washington quarterback Keith Price is 10 of 13 for 58 yards and a touchdown, with one interception.

Huskies running back Bishop Sankey, who rushed for more than 100 yards in his last three games, has gained 14 yards in five carries.

USC 17, Washington 7 (12:22 left in second quarter)

Tight end Xavier Grimble caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Matt Barkley to stem Washington’s momentum.

Grimbles’ catch eneded a nine-play, 76-yard drive highlighted by a 19-yard reception by Robert Woods and an 18-yard catch-and-run by Marqise Lee.

Barkley has completed six of nine passes for 93 yards and a touchdown, with an interception.

Woods has four catches for 51 yards.

USC 10, Washington 7 (end of first quarter)

Washington quarterback Keith Price connected with receiver Kasen Williams for a 17-yard touchdown pass to pull the Huskies to within three points.

The play capped an eight-play, 58-yard drive that began after cornerback Marcus Peters intercepted a pass by USC quarterback Matt Barkley.

Price completed five of five passes during the drive, none bigger than a shovel pass he tossed to running back Bishop Sankey just as he was about to be sacked.

Price, a junior from Compton, has completed seven of 10 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown, with one interception.

Matt Barkley is four of seven for 51 yards, with an interception.

Silas Redd has gained 80 yards in six carries and scored a touchdown.

USC 10, Washington 0 (10:29 left in the first quarter)USC linebacker Dion Bailey set up a Trojans touchdown by intercepting a pass by Washington quarterback Keith Price.

It was Bailey’s fourth interception of the season.

The Trojans took over at Washington’s 34-yard line and needed only three plays to score.

Matt Barkley connected with Robert Woods for an 18-yard gain and tailback Silas Redd did the rest.

The junior transfer gained four yards on first down and then finished a physical 11-yard run into the end zone with a dive to the right pylon.

USC 3, Washington 0 (11:48 left in the first quarter)

Tailback Silas Redd ran for 57 yards to the Washington eight-yard line on the first play, but USC could not reach the end zone and had to settle for Andre Heidari’s 23-yard field goal.

Redd looked as if he was stopped when he ran to the left side. But he moved to the right and then broke toward the sideline for his long run.

Senior tailback Curtis McNeal gained a yard on first down and Redd ran for two on the next play.

Matt Barkley’s pass to Robert Woods into the end zone was incomplete.

Pregame

Rain was falling at CenturyLink Field here in Seattle, but no longer.

At least for now.

Washingtonis playing home games in this NFL stadium while it’s campus facility is renovated, but the end zones here are not painted to reflect a Huskies presence.

Instead, it’s SEAHAWKS.

Washington is 3-0 at CenturyLink Field, having beaten San Diego State, Portland State and Stanford.

Last week, the Huskies got clobbered at Oregon.

This is USC’s fourth road trip in six games.

The Trojans are hoping to avoid a start similar to the one they escaped at Utah on Oct. 4. Bad snaps led to two Utah touchdowns.
