The gold medal-winning U.S. women’s soccer team will hold a public workout Saturday at the Home Depot Center in Carson ahead of Sunday afternoon’s “Paying Tribute Tour” friendly with Australia.

The entire team -- including keeper Hope Solo and forwards Alex Morgan and Abby Wambach -- is expected to take part in the 11 a.m. workout.

Coach Pia Sundhage, who announced earlier this month that she is leaving the U.S. team later this fall to return home to Sweden and manage the women’s program there, is also expected to be at Saturday’s workout.

Admission and parking are free for those who arrive by 11:30 a.m. U.S. Soccer Supporters Club members will receive premium seating at the public training session, which is expected to last about 75 minutes.

The U.S. won its fourth Olympic gold medal in five tries last month, beating Japan 2-1 in the final at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The American women opened their post-Olympic exhibition tour with an 8-0 victory over Costa Rica in Rochester, N.Y.
