Florida, LSU, Georgia advance to NCAA women’s gymnastics final
Florida, led by 2008 Olympian Bridget Sloan, Georgia and Louisiana State had the three highest team scores in the first of two six-team semifinal sessions Friday at the NCAA women’s gymnastics championships at Pauley Pavilion.
Those three teams will be joined in the finals Saturday by the top three finishers from Friday night’s session that includes UCLA, Oklahoma, Alabama, Michigan, Utah and Arkansas.
Another Pac-12 team, Stanford, was in the first session but failed to qualify for Saturday’s team finals.
The championships finish Sunday with individual event finals.
Florida had the top team score of the afternoon with 197.775 points, followed by LSU’s 197.325 and Georgia’s 197.150.
Stanford finished sixth in the afternoon semifinals, behind Minnesota and Illinois.
