Watch TV news reporter wake up the only guy in line for Titans tickets

Share

Remember the old days when the best way to get a seat for a live event was to camp out in line to make sure you beat the crowds?

Lots of times such activities turned into a big, overnight parties with hordes of people with a common interest coming together to do something a little bit nutty, all in the name of having a good time and getting good seats.

And you didn’t have to deal with a perky news reporter waking you up hours before tickets went on sale because there were plenty of others there to bother with inane questions.

Well sadly, my friends, those days are clearly over, as Tennessee Titans fan David Cline found out Friday morning at LP Field in Nashville.

For years, Cline has camped out for a single ticket to a single Titans game on the day they go on sale. This year was no different -- except for the fact that literally no one else showed up to do the same.

If that wasn’t sad enough, TV reporter Stephanie Langston decided to wake the poor guy up for an interview more than three hours before ticket sales started, apparently not knowing or caring how hard it is to fall asleep on cold concrete.

“Haven’t you heard of the Internet?” Langston asked him -- a valid question but kind of a low blow. He had an equally valid response: “I don’t have a credit card.”

With a little prodding from Langston, Cline recalled the good old days when people would camp out in tents for days just to get game tickets.

“I’ll do this when I’m in my 60s,” he said, moments before being mocked by a couple of news anchors back in their cozy studio.
