Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati has been investigated by North Palm Beach, Fla., police for numerous battery and stalking allegations by ex-boyfriend Ivan Brannan Jr.

A police report stemming from a Valentine’s Day domestic incident at a health club said that there is probable cause to arrest Capriati for “battery for punching and pushing Brannan” and “stalking Brannan on a constant basis from phone calls, text messages, showing up at his gym, his place of work and following him,” according to the Palm Beach Post.

It will be up to a judge whether to issue a warrant for the arrest of the 36-year-old former world No. 1 player. A spokesperson for Capriati denied the allegations, calling them “an over-exaggeration.”

Brannan has complained to the police eight times about Capriati’s behavior toward him after their 10-month relationship ended last February.

According to the Feb. 14 police report, a witness said Capriati punched Brannan four times in the chest, with a yoga instructor eventually breaking up the fight. Brannan locked himself in the locker room, called the police and later showed them the red marks on his chest.

Brannan also provided the police with seven incident reports from other police agencies he called accusing Capriati of harassing and stalking him. She was advised by police last June to avoid her ex-boyfriend, but he was denied in his attempt to get a court injunction for protection against the 1992 Olympic gold medalist the following month.

A co-worker of Brannan alleged to the North Palm Beach police, four days after the gym incident, that Capriati began pacing, yelling and pounding on a window when she found the office door locked. The co-worker said she feared for her life.

Capriati’s spokeswoman called the report “one-sided” and said her client “will have a new announcement in the upcoming days.”
