Three-point flurry helps Detroit Pistons beat Miami Heat, 93-92

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s jump shot with 55.5 seconds left put Detroit ahead to stay, and the Pistons came back from 18 points down to beat the Heat, 93-92, on Tuesday night at Miami.

Reggie Jackson led the Pistons with 18 points, while Stanley Johnson and Caldwell-Pope each added 14 for Detroit. The Pistons were 15 for 29 from three-point range, outscoring Miami 45-12 in that department.

Chris Bosh scored 20 points for Miami, which missed a pair of potential go-ahead shots in the final three seconds. Dwyane Wade missed a 14-footer, and after Andre Drummond missed a pair of free throws at the other end and the Heat got the ball back with 1.1 seconds left, Bosh missed a jumper as time expired.

Miami led 34-18 after the first quarter, then pushed the lead to 18 early in the second — and trailed 54-52 at halftime after a Detroit barrage of three-pointers, mostly from backups.

at Toronto 103, Dallas 99: DeMar DeRozan scored 28 points and Bismack Biyombo had a career-high 20 rebounds for the Raptors, who swept their two-game season series against the Mavericks.

Toronto appeared to be on its way to a comfortable victory with five minutes to go in the fourth, but Dallas battled back. Jeremy Evans scored with 11.6 seconds remaining to trim the Raptors’ lead to 101-99. Terrence Ross then closed it out with a couple of free throws.

Dirk Nowitzki led the way for Dallas with 20 points and seven rebounds. Nowitzki hit a 26-foot three-pointer to cut the Raptors’ lead to three points in the second minute of the fourth. But Toronto responded with a 15-2 run over the next five minutes.

Memphis 104, at Philadephia 90: Marc Gasol (19 points) and Mike Conley (18 points, six assists) were among five Grizzlies who scored in double figures.

Jahlil Okafor scored 18 points and Hollis Thompson contributed 16 for the 76ers, who dropped to 1-29. Philadelphia had 28 turnovers.

Memphis blew the game open by scoring eight straight points to open the fourth quarter. Vince Carter drained a pair of three-pointers and Zach Randolph had a layup to put the Grizzlies in front 85-66 with 10:54 left.
