NBA roundup: 76ers end losing streak after losing Jahlil Okafor for the season

Carl Landry scored 16 points, Nerlens Noel had 13 points and 11 rebounds and the Philadelphia 76ers ended a 13-game losing streak with a 95-89 victory over the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.

Ish Smith added 10 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the 76ers (9-56), who won their first game since Feb. 6 — also against Brooklyn — despite dealing with several injuries.

Robert Covington finished with 12 points for the 76ers before exiting with 9:40 left in the third quarter. He was kicked in the face by teammate Jerami Grant in a collision under the basket, and was taken off on a stretcher and taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he’ll be evaluated for a possible neck injury.

That came hours after the 76ers announced that standout rookie Jahlil Okafor is set to have season-ending surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Brook Lopez scored 24 points for the Nets (18-47), who have lost three straight and finished the longest trip of the NBA season with a 3-6 mark.

at Golden State 128, Portland 112: The Warriors scored 81 points in the first half and extended their regular-season record with their 47th consecutive home victory. Klay Thompson scored 37 points and Stephen Curry scored 34. Thompson made eight of 11 three-pointers and Curry seven of 14.

Houston 102, at Boston 98: James Harden scored 32 points, including Houston’s final eight, and the Rockets ended the Celtics’ 14-game home winning streak. Michael Beasley added 18 points and eight rebounds, and Dwight Howard finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds for Houston, which has won three straight — all on the road.

Minnesota 99, at Oklahoma City 96: Ricky Rubio made a three-pointer with 0.2 of a second remaining and the Timberwolves ended a 10-game losing streak against the Thunder. Kevin Durant scored 28 points, along with six rebounds, to lead Oklahoma City. Russell Westbrook had 26 points and eight assists.

at Memphis 121, New Orleans 114 (OT): Lance Stephenson scored a career-high 33 points, Matt Barnes recorded a triple-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, and the Grizzlies won for the fifth time in seven games. JaMychal Green also recorded a career-high 21 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds for Memphis.

at Charlotte 118, Detroit 103: Marvin Williams tied a career high with five three-pointers and scored 22 points, and the Hornets won their sixth in a row. Kemba Walker, who had scored at least 30 points in the previous four games, finished with 16 points and eight assists.

Miami 118, at Chicago 96: Goran Dragic scored a season-high 26 points, Josh Richardson added a career-high 22 and the Miami Heat used a big fourth quarter to beat the short-handed Bulls. Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler sat out with injuries and Chicago missed a chance to move into the final Eastern Conference playoff spot after Detroit lost at Charlotte.

at Utah 114, Washington 93: Shelvin Mack scored 27 points and the Jazz shot 57% from the field.

Orlando 107, at Sacramento 100: Aaron Gordon had 20 points and 11 rebounds and the Magic ended a three-game losing streak.
