Update: This is the third and final regular-season game between these struggling Western Conference clubs. They played to a 1-1 tie in their first match April 12 in Portland, then the Timbers won, 2-0, on May 28 at StubHub Center. After winning four consecutive games in late June and July, Chivas USA has lost its last three games, most recently a 1-0 loss to FC Dallas last Sunday at StubHub Center, and is now last in the conference. Chivas USA scored only one goal in those three games combined. Portland is coming off a 3-1 loss to the Galaxy a week ago at StubHub Center.
