Kevin Durant has a lot to think about this off-season.

But he hasn’t started yet. The Oklahoma City star said Monday night that his upcoming unrestricted free agency was the furthest thing from his mind following the Thunder’s 96-88 loss to Golden State in Game 7 of the NBA’s Western Conference finals.

“I mean, we just lost like 30 minutes ago, so I haven’t even thought about it,” Durant said during his postgame news conference. “I’m just embracing my teammates and just reflecting on the season. I’ll think about that stuff, I don’t know when.”

Up until that point, it looked like Durant would still be thinking about basketball this week. The Thunder blew out the Warriors in Games 3 and 4 and held a 3-1 series lead as recently as last Thursday, before losing three games straight to the defending champs.

Under any circumstances, it would be hard to switch to off-season mode after an ending like that. And with some tough business decisions ahead, including whether to leave the only team he’s played for in nine NBA seasons, Durant no doubt needs some time to change gears.

“It’s hard to think about that. Especially right now, especially when you’re battling every single day,” Durant told USA Today. “It’s hard. Give me a couple weeks and talk to me then, but I just don’t know right know, man.”
