Black Monday is underway in the NFL.

The Jacksonville Jaguars fired General Manager Gene Smith early Monday, and, according to multiple reports, the Cleveland Browns have cut ties with Coach Pat Shurmur and GM Tom Heckert.

In Kansas City, the Chiefs reportedly have fired Coach Romeo Crennel but, so far, not GM Scott Pioli.

It’s the reverse with the New York Jets, as GM Mike Tannenbaum reportedly is out but Coach Rex Ryan is not.

Shurmur won nine games in two seasons, finishing this one 5-11.

“We really did not win enough games, and we’re not competing next week,” Shurmur said Sunday in the wake of a 24-10 loss at Pittsburgh. “I was never really worried about [next season], and I have no regrets.”

In Jacksonville, Jaguars owner Shad Khan said it’s time for the Jaguars to “start a new chapter.”

“We’re not looking back,” Khan said in a written statement. “I made it clear from Day One that we pledge nothing less than to deliver the first Super Bowl championship to Jacksonville.”
