Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg broke his right hand when he was slashed in Friday night’s game against his ex-team, Ottawa, and will miss four to six weeks, the team announced Saturday.

Silfverberg, 23, has four goals and three assists through 11 games and has spent the bulk of the season alongside Teemu Selanne and Mathieu Perreault on the Ducks’ second line.

Silfverberg was slashed by Ottawa’s Jared Cowen 11:02 into the third period of the Ducks’ 2-1 victory over the Senators in the third game of the Ducks’ eight-game trip.

Silfverberg, prospect Stefan Noesen and a first-round draft pick were acquired by the Ducks from Ottawa in exchange for forward Bobby Ryan in July. Noesen earlier this month tore knee ligaments and is out for the season.

Perreault sprained his left wrist in Friday’s game and is day to day, a Ducks spokesman said.

Ducks forward Dustin Penner, who was knocked unconscious by an Oct. 20 hit from suspended Colorado forward Ryan Garbutt, will return to the Ducks for Sunday’s game at Columbus.
