Galaxy to host Club Tijuana in first CONCACAF quarterfinal game

The Galaxy said Monday that it will host Club Tijuana on March 12 in the first leg of a two-game quarterfinal series in the CONCACAF Champions League tournament.

The game at StubHub Center in Carson starts at 7 p.m. The second game is scheduled in Tijuana on March 18.

CONCACAF is a federation of club teams mainly from North America and Central America.

The Galaxy advanced to the quarterfinals by compiling a 3-1-0 record in the initial group-stay play against Isidro Metapan of El Salvador and CS Cartagines of Costa Rica.

If the Galaxy prevails in the two-game, aggregate-goal series against Club Tijuana and advances to the semifinals, it would face the winner of the quarterfinal series between Sporting Kansas City and Cruz Azul of Mexico.
