Jared Goff’s father, Jerry, was a major league catcher who played for the Montreal Expos, Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros.

On Monday, the Rams’ rookie quarterback will be on the mound at Dodgers Stadium when he throws out the first pitch before the Dodgers’ game against the Colorado Rockies.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Goff grew up in Northern California, played in college at California and is a longtime San Francisco Giants fan.

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig might seek out Goff.

In 2013, Goff sent out a tweet the day after Puig flipped his bat to celebrate a walk-off home run in extra innings against the Cincinnati Reds.

“I really hope Puig gets a fastball in his ribs tomorrow,” Goff wrote.

After the Rams selected Goff with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, Puig retweeted Goff’s message and welcomed him to Los Angeles, inviting him to be his guest at a Dodgers game and to show him around. One of the hashtags in the message was “#PuigYourFriend.”

Goff also is a Golden State Warriors fan.

I have been forever,” he said last week. “Plan to have a little bit of a dual fan-ship with the Lakers as well.”

And the Clippers?

“Maybe them too,” he said. “I like all of the teams down here.”
