U.S. teenager Josh Ruggles beats Spanish pros in 3-point contest

What can you do for an encore after setting a world record for making three-point shots in five minutes?
If you’re Josh Ruggles, a senior at Wheaton Academy in Chicago, you go to Spain and beat eight professional basketball players in a three-point contest.
Ruggles, one of nine contestants, defeated the Spanish league’s scoring champion in 2010 and ‘11, Jaycee Carroll, in the finals, 14-12. Ruggles was more impressive in the semifinals, beating former NBA player Andres Nicocini, 18-17.
He was invited to participate in the contest after a video of him making the 135 three-pointers in five minutes went viral (see above).
His last tweet, though, wasn’t about the victory.
Just to clear the rumors: I was kissed on the cheek by 2 Spanish cheerleaders on the kiss cam last night. #cashmoney— Josh Ruggles (@RealJoshRuggles) October 5, 2013
